The Samaritan
I just finished watching the Samaritan with Sylvester Stallone. It was a simple concept. An old hero tired from his battles and mourning the death of his brother, who he was responsible for. Joe Smith was a loner, a miser living in his cabin in the woods away from everyone else when someone pushed him back into the spotlight.
As a story it wasn't anything new or revolutionary but it was enjoyable to watch him once again fight for what's right. The twist was something I saw coming and rather than take away from the story the redemption added to the character.
Anti-heros are popular if not always interesting and having the bad guy save the day makes for a more poinient story then having a good guy who gave up.
