Golden Age Flash
Why the Golden Age
Flash was better than the others.
Who hasn`t wanted to run so fast
that they could break the sound barrier, travel through time, pass through
objects, drive someone`s head through a car door? Hold up as minute. The last
one doesn`t sound very heroic, does it? What happened to respecting the rights
of the criminals? Giving them their proper place to reform. With a popular TV
show The Flash is about stopping those criminals and upholding truth, justice
and winning football games. Again. Sorry about that. I`m confusing the TV
character with his Golden age comic counterpart. Jay Garrick was the first
Flash and the best Flash of them all. He knew what to do with his power and he
did it with style. Even if today it would land him in the super-hero loony bin
for being a sociopath. But hey he had a cool costume.
For one thing he would often strip his enemies. When a hardened criminal was in his underwear it was hard to hide a gun.
Secondly he often shoved his enemies through walls, car doors, anything that was handy. For some reason they didn`t die.
Third he didn`t wear a silly mask. His face was clear to everybody.
Finally who can`t like a superhero who tries to convince his villains that they are going mad talking to invisible voices in the room.
Jay was the best.
